  2020 2030 2050

  • New federal and international regulations to reduce emissions increase demand for low sulphur/distillate petroleum products

    • IMO 2020 regulations caused market disruption moving the sulphur cap from its previous 3.5%m/m to 0.50%m/m

    • Additionally, Emission Controlled Areas (ECA's) are restricted to a sulphur cap of less than 0.10%m/m

    • GMF has answered this problem, providing a 77% reduction in carbon emissions compared to alternatives. Offering a green energy alternative by recycling used motor oil back into premium fuels.

  • IMO 2020

    • 'The International Maritime Organization (IMO) introduced a sulphur cap regulation to regulate the global sulphur content from 3.50%m/m to 0.50%m/m reducing the amount of sulphur allowed to be emitted in international waterways. This 86% reduction from high emitting fuel oils to lower sulphur petroleum products has caused a market disruption on a global scale with GMF capturing this opportunity.

    • This is in addition to the 0.10%m/m in Emission Controlled Areas (ECA). Ship owners must comply and were limited with a few options.' - https://bit.ly/37DHXsY

  • IMO 2030

    • IMO 2030 is a continuance of IMO 2020, in which the agenda to continue to reduce GHGs emissions with ships and the ultimate decarbonization of our waterways. It calls for a 40% reduction in carbon intensity, meaning it will be reflective of how much pollution is created on per freight basis, reducing the level of emissions based on each ships pollution. Please watch video below from Ship & Bunker, called "What is IMO 2030?" to have a better understanding. â€‹

  • IMO 2050

    • IMO 2050 is a continuance of IMO 2030, which is measuring carbon intensity and the plan to reduce GHGs emissions by 70% based on a per-fleet basis, if not a complete decarbonization of waterways all together.

  • Further regulated ocean areas by federal governments have provided additional sulphur restrictions inside a 200 nautical miles of their coast lines. These federally regulated zones are called "Emission Controlled Areas" (ECA). Below is a map of present and future plans of ECA's.

  • The GMF technology is well positioned using current technology with no facility upgrading to provided recycled compliant fuel alternative to the bunkering industry. GMF at its current state is able to continue to provide low Sulphur alternatives well past IMO 2050.
